We develop and provide a free Windows map viewing program, used for displaying maps in a variety of standard and developing formats; amongst others, the geotiff format used by the Ordnance Survey and the US Geological Survey (USGS), our own open specification .gdf format used for large composite maps (and in development, support for the new geoPDF format).

Using data available via the Ordnance Survey's OpenData™ initiative, we supply full maps of Great Britain at a variety of scales, height data for GB at a useable resolution, and gazetteer information with varying degrees of detail down to postcode level. Our composite OpenData™ height data map, most of our gazetteers and all our smaller scale maps are royalty-free and can be downloaded at no cost whatsoever; larger scale custom composite maps, topographically shaded maps, and more detailed gazetteer data are available at reasonable prices.

We can also supply USGS geotiff quadrangle files, freely available for download from numerous US state and government websites - why then buy, when you can most assuredly download for no cost? The answer: a medium-sized western state, such as Arizona, is covered by over 1,900 1:24,000 scale geotiffs, amounting to around 11Gb of precious broadband bandwidth (plus the non-trivial time taken to select, download and archive these files). For the whole of the US this amounts to a brobdingnagian number of files and a gargantuan bandwidth usage - which is why we offer to sell you bundles of those pesky files ourselves (elevation data included).
